The Whale Who Sang Too Deep

In the bright singing pod, one voice was never heard. A gentle ocean bedtime story about Wren, whose song rolled too deep for anyone to notice — until the day only a deep song could reach the bottom of the dark canyon. For every quiet little one whose voice gets talked over.

In the bright pod, one voice unheard. Wren sang too deep, below where listening lives. Her songs rolled unheard, like far away thunder.

So Wren went quiet, and swam alone. One grey day, storm currents came twisting through. When the water cleared, the calf was gone.

The pod sang bright into the deep canyon. But bright songs scatter, and canyon swallowed them. Far below, the little calf drifted alone.

Then Wren remembered the voice she lost. Her deep song rolled for miles through darkness. Out of the canyon, a voice sang back.

Now the pod sleeps inside her lullaby.
