Opal and the Eight Tired Arms
Opal has eight arms and lends every single one away, opening clams, untangling kelp, carrying urchins for the whole reef, never once asking for help herself. A gentle ocean bedtime story about the night her own arms tangled into a knot, and the tidepool full of friends who came to untangle her. For every little one who forgets that helpers need help too.

Opal had eight arms, lent them all away. The whole reef loved her endless helping hands. She never once said her arms were tired.
Then all eight arms tangled into one knot. Nobody noticed the helper had no arms left. Alone in the dark, she finally stopped moving.
Her friends began to search the whole reef. She whispered for help and everything changed. Starfish, crabs, and seahorses all came running.
One small helper untangled each tired arm. For the first time, all eight arms rested. The reef took over her jobs for once.
Eight arms rested, held by many small hands.
