Sunny dreamed of the sky, clutched her rope. She gazed up, longing to touch the sky. Birds and clouds drifted free, far above her.
She strained upward, lifting just a little. But the rope held firm, and she sank. The birds flew on, further out of reach.
Tied to the ground, she watched birds fly. She looked down at the rope, and wondered. Something in her decided to finally try.
To rise, she let the tether go. Sunny rose higher, mist curling below her. Now she drifted right alongside the birds.
Now Sunny drifts among the morning clouds.
